If you want to use, that's your business.
If you want to quit, that's ours.
Welcome to Heroin Anonymous of Dallas, Texas
We are glad you are here.
Why This Group?
First, we felt a need for it and second, we believe we understand the
sufferings of another chronic heroin addict better than most. For the most
part, heroin addicts just want to get loaded and be left alone. Early in
our using, we seldom got into trouble or caused much trouble. Few knew we
were using heroin or how much we were using. Later, as our illness
progressed and our using increased, things began to change. At some point
of our using, we lost control and did not understand why we kept doing it.
We believe we can answer that important question and more importantly we have
found a way out that works for us.
Who Are We?We are a group of men and women who have
recovered from their chronic heroin addiction. We come from many different
walks of life - high, low, rich, poor, etc. These matters do not concern us.
Some, but not all of our members sobered up in other 12 step fellowships.
The common problem brought us together, and we have found a common solution.

What Do We Do?
We use the 12 Steps of Heroin Anonymous, which we borrowed from Alcoholics
Anonymous (with who we are not affiliated). We do use the book titled
Alcoholics Anonymous as our guide to recovery. We use the 12 Tradition of
Heroin Anonymous to ensure our unity. We spend much of our time trying to
carry this message to those who are still suffering, and by doing so we receive
the help we need. Our hope is that all those who are still suffering will
be given the same opportunity we have had, and if they choose to follow our
path, they too can join us.
