If you want to use that's your business. If you want to quit, that's ours.

What is Heroin Anonymous?

We are individuals who at some point were faced with a decision. We could keep living life the way we were, or seek help. We found that to go forward living life the way we had been meant total destruction and that we could not live like this anymore. If you are afflicted by the same problem we were, we are here to help. Our members consist of individuals who have found a better way of life. We have recovered from our heroin addiction and simply wish to offer help to all of those who seek help. In our fellowship you will see one heroin addict helping another who is desperately searching for a solution to their addiction.

Why?

We started this Heroin Anonymous meeting in Dallas for two reasons.

  • One: We felt a real need for it.
  • Two: Identification is a necessity.
  • Perhaps you know of a potential member who is on methadone, detoxing, or simply wants to quit using heroin. As you and I both know, the methadone program and other programs have helped a lot of these people and appear to work well for them. On the other hand, there are people who do not respond to these programs and yet these people do want to get sober. These people are folks like us. When we have a potential member that is in the process of detoxing, and wants to get sober, we feel that we are a good support system for them. If they choose, we encourage them to get a sponsor and work the steps. If for some reason they prefer to try a different method, we simply let them know that we understand and are here to help if they need it.

Our collective purpose is to let the individual know that we are here to help, and to give back what was so freely given to us, a solution. We only hope that every heroin addict that has failed with other methods or treatment know that we are here and have a solution for their addiction.
